da bet vitoria: There will be a host of fascinating battles taking place on the pitch of Wembley this Saturday when Tottenham welcome London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League.
da 888: Harry Kane versus David Luiz and Eden Hazard versus Serge Aurier are just two of many interesting match-ups that could take place on the day, match-ups that could decide who walks away with all three points.
Elsewhere on the pitch, creative midfielder Christian Eriksen could find himself going toe-to-toe with Jorginho in the middle of the park with Mauricio Pochettino likely to give the 26-year-old the task of shutting down Chelsea’s conductor.
As far as influence goes, though, how do the Tottenham and Chelsea players compare?
Christian Eriksen
While Eriksen will probably be tasked with trying to restrict Jorginho’s influence in the game like previous No.10s have done against the Italian this season, his main responsibility will obviously be to create chances for the team — something he is exceptional at.
When it comes to making an impact in the final third of the pitch, Eriksen is easily up there with the best in the Premier League.
The Denmark international can create goal-scoring opportunities with his ability to play perfectly weighted defence-splitting passes, while his delivery be it from a set piece or in open play can be just as effective.
As well as that, Eriksen is also more than capable of smashing one in from long-range, giving his side another dangerous weapon, although Chelsea supporters will not need any reminders considering what the former Ajax man has done in his last two visits to Stamford Bridge.
TT Grade: B+ Jorginho
Like Eriksen, Jorginho is a player who can have a huge influence on any game. The Italy international, however, makes his presence felt much deeper on the pitch.
From the base of midfield, Jorginho looks to dictate to play and, in general, is the man who starts almost every Chelsea attack with a progressive pass once he receives the ball from a defender.
Against Everton, Jorginho was neutralised superbly by Gylfi Sigurdsson before being hooked off by Maurizio Sarri, which may give Eriksen or whoever is sent out to combat the ex-Napoli player’s threat some encouragement.
But overall, since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Italy back in the summer, Jorginho has been brilliant and essential in Sarri-ball being implemented so quickly in west London.
TT Grade: A TT Verdict:
Eriksen has been an incredible acquisition for Tottenham following his move to the north London club from Ajax.
At just under £12m (via BBC Sport), he has been one of the best pieces of business ever done by Daniel Levy.
However, looking at influence, Jorginho’s is unrivalled when comparing the two. Without him, Chelsea would be a completely different outfit under Sarri and it is hard to imagine how they would get by in his absence. Therefore, the deep-lying midfielder wins this battle.
