Jurgen Klopp will be financially supported and it will be down to him to cut out the deadwood and replace them with good players than can help the side into Europe next season. But with some many names being linked with the club, who would be the best to choose?
Here’s FIVE marquee signings that will set the world on fire at Liverpool.
Gonzalo Higuain
The former Real Madrid man hit over 45 goals this season and set a new Serie A record- need we say more? He’s been in stunning form all year round and his signing would really give the Reds the chance to compete for the Premier League crown. What would he bring? An excellent ability to score goals, a yard of pace and someone who is a complete striker.
Lorenzo Insigne
Lorenzo Insigne would be a massive signing if they could pull it off. Capable of playing on either flank, this pacey winger is known for his creativity and skills, his pace and his free-kick taking ability. 13 goals for Napoli this season has been solid, and he and and Gonzalo Higuain have struck up quite a partnership for the Naples side this year.
Kevin Gameiro
This is a man who is attracting attention from Barcelona, and that is no accident. Kevin Gamiero has been on fire for Sevilla again this season, scoring 29 goals in all competitions for the Spanish side. He’s been impressive at every club he’s been at during his professional career and his form shows no signs of slowing up. He’s quick, has excellent heading ability and works really hard for the team. Juan Mata
Mata looks to be on his way out of Manchester United this summer after Jose Mourinho branded him surplus to requirements. This would be controversial due to his time with Manchester United, but that should be looked past to get in a player of his quality. He has excellent crossing ability, contributes with goals and has silky skills to boot. Whether they could entice him to stay in England yet again is uncertain, but what a coup if they could bring him in.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The Swede would be right up there for Liverpool. He’s an enigmatic guy, and as well as the quality he provides on the pitch, he’s a character that will bring worldwide frenzy – after all, it is Zlatan. He’s coming to the end of his career but what a player to have around the club for some of the youngsters. A real icon who still has bags of quality.
