Tottenham Hotspur supporters are hopeful that Erik Lamela will turn to the pitch next season after he stepped down memory lane on Twitter.
The club’s official page reminded fans that a year ago they completed a 3-0 win over Manchester United at White hart Lane.
Lamela was one of the scorers, alongside Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld, and it was a dramatic triumph given that all three goals came within six minutes.
The Argentine retweeted his club and relived his memories of the stunning win.
This season, Lamela has had a campaign to forget given that he has not played since a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup on October 25.
The 25-year-old has been struggling with a troublesome hip injury, and the club refrained from giving a timeline of recovery, causing plenty of fans to wonder what was going on with their player.
Lamela spent some time with his former club Roma in a bid to speed up his recovery, and now he has undergone surgery to fix the problem.
After the Argentine took to social media, Tottenham fans used the opportunity to call for his return.
