Former Charlton Athletic striker Alfie May, now of Birmingham City, is in contention to clinch the 2023-24 PFA League One Player of the Year award.

The 31-year-old English forward, who won the Golden Boot award in League One in the 2023-24 campaign with 23 goals, has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award. May scored 27 times in 50 appearances across all competitions as Charlton finished 16th in the league.

His time with The Addicks lasted for just one season, though, as the attacker has now moved to Birmingham, where NFL legend Tom Brady is an investor. The Blues finished 22nd in the Championship last season and got relegated. Ahead of starting their campaign in the third division, they have bolstered their attack by roping in the top goalscorer of the league from the last campaign.
