da bet sport： Lots of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic’s Phil Hay confirmed that Kalvin Phillips has agreed a new five-year contract at Elland Road.
The 23-year-old will reportedly earn a weekly wage of £20k-a-week with his new terms, making him one of the highest earners in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.
Leeds rebuffed all advances for their star midfielder this summer, including an approach from Aston Villa – the Villans made a verbal offer of £15m, which fell short of the club’s £20m valuation.
The academy graduate had a contract until 2021 but his wage failed to reflect his status in the squad – Phillips earned a place in the EFL Championship Team of the Year for his efforts last term.
