da esoccer bet: Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has made an impassioned plea for the Football Association's appeals process to be updated.
da bet vitoria: The Trotters boss is furious that the red card Gary Cahill was handed during Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Arsenal will stand after the club's appeal was thrown out by the FA.
Coyle does not believe Cahill's second-half challenge on Gunners striker Marouane Chamakh warranted the defender being sent off.
However, the FA decided to uphold referee Stuart Attwell's decision and Cahill will now serve a three-match ban, missing the Premier League games against Aston Villa and Manchester United and the Carling Cup clash with Burnley.
Coyle said:"The difficulty with the appeals is the criteria laid down for the panel reviewing the red cards. Some of the text says it needs to be a clear and obvious mistake by the referee. If it's a yellow card it's not clear and obvious because it's just an interpretation.
"Maybe the criteria needs to be looked at because I spoke to Mike Riley, the head of referees, over the weekend, and he felt it was a yellow card.
"When you've got somebody of that calibre saying that, it reinforced my belief there was a chance it would be overturned."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
